Records Clerk

Job Summary:

Provide support to a department or office by carrying out specific, clearly defined data management tasks and record keeping tasks and projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate, have 1-3 years of progressively responsible secretarial/clerical work or any combination of training, experience and education sufficient to indicate an ability to do the work.  All candidates must be able to demonstrate general computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a receptionist and schedule student appointments
  • Continually update data/information for employers (on-campus recruiting, career trips, etc.) and for students
  • Fill student and staff requests for forms, information and travel arrangements 
  • Utilize basic levels of Microsoft Office to track files, update forms or request further information when necessary
  • Provide clerical or reception support as needed, answer questions when appropriate
  • Provide basic room set-up and catering follow-up for workshops or information sessions
  • Possess organizational knowledge of institution as required by position
  • Consistently demonstrate courtesy, tact, professionalism and the ability to handle difficult people
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

The Center for Career Services offers a variety of programs and information to assist students and alumni with setting career goals and seeking employment. Choosing a career path is a process that unfolds throughout the college years and beyond. It involves discovering individual potential, learning about career fields, and gaining career-related experience in high quality organizations. Matriculated students, both undergraduate and graduate, are encouraged to become involved with the Center early in their college years to plan effectively and make informed career decisions. Career Services also promotes a strong alumni network, which fosters career advancement for its valued alumni.
