Job Summary:

The Business Director is responsible for budgeting, implementing, reporting and evaluating all programs and activities related to the business operations of the IT Department. This position is responsible for providing management oversight and leadership for the development of the financial operations related to infrastructure, telecom, digital education, cybersecurity and other IT service areas. This position initiates, implements and analyzes pricing models for various services provided as part of the Marist Cloud Services operation and software licensing.  This position is responsible for implementing and monitoring adherence to Marist policies and procedures relating to Human Resources, Payroll, Purchasing, and Departmental Accounting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and five years’ experience in a financial, accounting, budgeting, auditing or planning function is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, prioritizes, creates and monitors department operating budgets.
  • Oversees and provides leadership for the financial operations of Marist Cloud Services to our customers.
  • Directs IT budget administration and billing.
  • Provides leadership of best business practices, budget related policies and billing procedures.
  • Manages and monitors adherence to Purchasing and oversight of vendor contracts.
  • Provides advice, expertise and guidance to Directors, Managers and CIO related to financial and purchasing matters.
  • Performs financial analysis, implementation and tracking of various projects as approved and funded by the CIO.
  • Strategic planning and management of facilities, personnel and service operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, and seven years’ experience in a financial, accounting, budgeting, auditing or planning function is preferred. Experience in higher education is preferred.

The Business Director will serve as key member of the dedicated and versatile Information Technology team responsible for the implementation and maintenance of enterprise IT services essential to the operation of the College.
