Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Student Financial Services will oversee the processing of Department of Education Data and the Electronic Federal Aid Payments and Reconciliation. This position will assist with all financial aid aspects of the graduate programs, including Physician Assistant (PA) & Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs and will maintain policy and procedures, have effective communication skills, and provide quality customer service and counseling.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of appropriate work experience required. Candidates must possess a high attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the Downloading & Processing of ISIR Data and Electronic Federal Aid Payments as well as Batch Posting, Including Tracking, Budgeting and Packaging.
  • Manage office operations such as departmental emails and financial aid appeals.
  • Assist with all financial aid aspects of the graduate programs, including programs such as the Physician Assistant (PA) program and the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs.
  • Counsel prospective students on financial aid packages and respond to billing inquiries. Participate at student financial services related events.
  • Assist with the student verification process including LDM, international, and other special interest student groups.
  • Uphold and maintain policy and procedures for financial aid processing, in addition to assisting with updating SFS Policy & Procedures.
  • Assist with compiling trend data and creating year end reports.
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with ARGOS reporting, Statistical Software.

About the Department:

The Marist College Office of Student Financial Services is committed to providing affordability options and managing the equitable distribution of student aid funds. The office coordinates student employment both on and off campus, student billing, and financial literacy. We are dedicated to promoting accessibility through personalized service and integrity. 

Normal office hours are from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. We encourage our staff to avoid vacations during April, early May and mid-August to mid-September. Extra hours will be required during the beginning of each semester when working with enrollment and billing deadlines. Occasional early morning and evening overage is required. All staff is required to participate during Open House weekend and on two weekends (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) for orientation for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
