Job Summary:

The Marist College Office of Human Resources welcomes applications for the position of HR Coordinator. The HR Coordinator will join a dynamic team and perform a wide variety of administrative duties to support the effective operations of the Office of Human Resources. The HR Coordinator will lead the coordination of day-to-day operations, achieve customer service goals, and will provide direct administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources. This position is eligible for the College’s benefits package and paid time off.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma and relevant work experience is required.

High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, judgement, and cultural sensitivity. Expected to handle confidential and sensitive materials. Ability to integrate into a fast-paced office environment.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle stressful situations, use initiative and innovation to handle issues and make decisions.

Demonstrated strong organization skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/Mail/Calendar, and the ability to learn new software applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee front desk administration and perform day-to-day operations to support the HR team
  • Responsible for the reconciliation for the HR budget and expenses
  • Receive and prioritize all incoming telephone calls, email, mail, faxes and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers
  • Support the Vice President of HR with calendar management, meeting/document preparation, and additional projects
  • Complete special projects with the Human Resources management team as assigned
  • Develop and maintain content for bulletin boards, HR Headlines, social media, and other communications
  • Serve as point of contact for various compliance activities on an annual basis
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other internal College departments
  • Complete employment verifications for current and past employees
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and place orders as needed
  • May assist with process improvement projects to enable more office operational efficiency
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field preferred.


Prior administrative experience is preferred.
