Job Summary:

The Department of Biology within the School of Science invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Biology for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Department is specifically searching for qualified individuals to teach General Biology I, a course that covers the scientific method, the chemical and cellular basis of life, energy transformation, DNA structure and replication, protein synthesis, cell division, and General Biology II - a course that covers the scientific method, transmission genetics, basic evolutionary theory, and ecological relationships. This class requires instructors to teach and in-person one lecture section (two 75-minute meetings per week) and one associated lab section (one 165-minute meeting per week). The successful candidate will join a department characterized by a strong sense of community in which students are the central focus and faculty who are both accessible and approachable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include an M.A. or M.S. in Biology or closely related field, strong interest in undergraduate education, a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, and interest in working collaboratively with others.

Essential Functions:

The Adjunct Instructors of Biology will teach General Biology II or Topics in Biology.
