The Department of English in the School of Liberal Arts at Marist College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor and Writing Center Director to begin in July 2024. In addition to Writing Center administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will also teach a variety of writing courses including First-Year Writing; foundational courses for the English Major; and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. This position comes with a course reassignment for Writing Center duties, so candidates can expect a 2-2 teaching load. Candidates with an expertise in undergraduate research, service-learning pedagogies, or other high-impact practices are especially welcome. Candidates must demonstrate strong or potential accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion. |

The Philosophy and Religious Studies Department in the School of Liberal Arts at Marist College invites applications for a Lecturer of Philosophy to begin in August 2024. Candidates should be able to teach undergraduate philosophy courses at all levels, including Introduction to Philosophy. AOS is open but AOC must include at least one of the following: non-Western philosophy, contemporary ethical theory, history of philosophy, philosophy of law, philosophy of race, and empirical moral psychology. The Department already has coverage in metaphysics & epistemology, aesthetics, philosophy of mind, contemporary Continental philosophy, modern philosophy, social and political philosophy, and logic. Candidates will teach our First Year Seminar course regularly, and candidates will have opportunities to teach courses in our Honors Program. A strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates is required. |
Assistant Professor of Spanish

The department of World Languages and Cultures at Marist College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish with a specialization in contemporary Latin American/Latinx literature and cultures to begin in August 2024. Teaching responsibilities include all levels of Spanish language, survey courses in literature, and a senior seminar. Candidates with experience or strong interest in community-based learning projects are especially welcome. The candidate should have proven ability to integrate technology into instruction and be open to a variety of course delivery methods (e.g. online or hybrid). The successful candidate will contribute to our programs in Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Global Studies, and First Year Seminar.
This position is part of an ongoing Diversity and Global Studies cluster hire, and we will welcome additional new faculty members as part of our Global Studies cluster. These new faculty members will join faculty in the departments of English, history, world languages and cultures, and political science who focus on Global Studies generally, and Africana Studies and Latinx & Latin American Studies specifically. The position is also part of a major college-wide hiring initiative with the goal of creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive institution. |
