Professional Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Medical Laboratory Science

The School of Science at Marist is pleased to invite applications for a full-time faculty position in our accelerated Medical Laboratory Science program starting Fall 2025. This position is tenure-track or a lecturer position, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate. The primary location for this position will be in our New York City location in Manhattan. The Medical Technology Department’s academic mission is immeasurably enriched by an inclusive community in which diverse perspectives are respected and valued. Applicants with expertise in Blood Banking or Clinical Microbiology are encouraged to apply. Additional preference will be given to those with undergraduate teaching experience and/or undergraduate teaching of Hematology or Clinical Chemistry and/or a doctorate in a related field. Responsibilities of this position include teaching both lecture and laboratory sections at either the Marist Poughkeepsie or Manhattan locations, overseeing clinical rotations in Manhattan, and university service.
The successful candidate will join a well-established (30+ years) program that is NAACLS accredited (most recently in 2019) and focused on providing an excellent education for students seeking careers in the medical laboratory sciences. They will also work closely with students, clinical affiliate faculty, and on-campus faculty, staff and administrators. Prior teaching experience is desirable; however, candidates with promise and enthusiasm for becoming a skilled teacher are strongly encouraged to apply.

The part-time faculty position in Chemistry involves teaching the General Chemistry II laboratory course, delivered in person. Teaching responsibilities include explaining chemistry concepts to students, conducting labs, grading assignments, and maintaining effective communication with students. Additionally, the instructor will maintain a strong online presence through the learning management system (Brightspace) by posting lab announcements, grading online assignments, and updating the online gradebook in a timely manner.
Must be available to cover 3 credit labs on Monday 8am - 11 am, and/or Friday 2pm – 5 pm in the Spring, 2025 semester.

The Part-Time Faculty position in Physics involves teaching the Physics II laboratory course, delivered in person. Physics II is the second semester of an introductory physics course covering electricity and magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Teaching responsibilities include explaining physics concepts to students, conducting labs, grading assignments, and maintaining effective communication with students. While this position is for Spring 2024, we may have additional teaching opportunities in lecture or lab instruction for College Physics or General Physics I/II in future semesters. This position would be ideal for those looking to expand their teaching portfolio and potentially continue with additional instructional roles in the department.

The School of Science at Marist University is pleased to invite applications for Part-Time Faculty in the Department of Biology, for the 2024-2025 academic year. In the fall semester the Department is searching for qualified individuals to teach General Biology I, a course covering the scientific method, the chemical and cellular basis of life, energy transformations, DNA structure and replication, protein synthesis, and cell division. In the spring semester instructors are sought for General Biology II, a course covering the scientific method, transmission genetics and inheritance, evolution, and ecological relationships. These classes require instructors to teach in-person, one lecture section (two 75-minute meetings per week) and one associated lab section (one 165-minute meeting per week). We also seek qualified individuals to teach in-person lecture-only biology courses for non-science majors such as Topics in Biology, Human Biology, and Life on Earth.
