The Department of Criminal Justice in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marist College invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice beginning Fall 2024. Marist faculty are teachers, scholars, and active members of the college and local community. We welcome candidates who will place an emphasis on quality teaching in a small classroom setting and who can expertly integrate relevant contemporary and sociocultural content into their teaching. Applicants should be flexible with regard to teaching assignments and confident in their abilities to teach courses within their areas of expertise, as well as core courses such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Research Methods, and Senior Seminar. The successful candidate will also have a promising and active research agenda that leads to peer reviewed publications and presentations. We are especially interested in faculty who enjoy collaborating with students on research projects.
Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling/Psychology Poughkeepsie, NY
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program and psychology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marist College invites applications for one tenure track position of Assistant Professor of CMHC and Psychology to begin the fall of 2024. This position is for a core faculty member in the MA CMHC program. The counselor educator will teach courses in both the graduate counseling and undergraduate psychology programs, but with an emphasis on graduate teaching. The MA CMHC program is an independent classroom-based program housed within the psychology department. Graduate courses are offered in the evenings. We seek candidates prepared to teach courses in the CACREP common core curricular counseling domains. Applicants should be flexible about teaching assignments. We welcome candidates who will place an emphasis on quality teaching in a small classroom setting and who can expertly integrate relevant sociocultural, diversity, and social justice advocacy content and issues into their teaching. Applicants should be engaged in ongoing research activities and enthusiastic about providing students with opportunities to collaborate.
Assistant Professor of Psychology Poughkeepsie, NY
The psychology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marist College invites applications for two tenure track positions of Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin the fall of 2024. We welcome candidates to fill one line to specialize in biopsychology, health psychology or cognitive neuroscience. The psychology department is interested in providing students with opportunities to understand the application of biological and neuroscience principles to human thought, emotion, and behavior. For the second line, we are open to candidates with expertise in a variety of discipline areas. While areas of specialization are open for the second line, the psychology department is interested in providing students with opportunities to understand the application of psychological and behavioral principles to issues such as social inequality and disparities, behavioral health, diversity, and inclusiveness. We also welcome candidates with the ability to promote community-based research collaborations. Priority will be given to candidates who can model and foster an interdisciplinary, integrative approach to human wellbeing at individual, group, and community levels.

The Marist College Education Department seeks candidates for the position of MAT Program Director and Professional Lecturer of Education to begin in Fall 2024. We welcome candidates with a passion for preparing future P-12 teachers. This position oversees the 5-year Adolescence/Students with Disabilities Education program (grades 7-12) and offers guidance and vision for this important area of teacher preparation. The MAT students are prepared to be competent, confident, and successful teachers from the very first moment they step into their classrooms. The Social Work & Sociology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Program Director and Professional Lecturer of Social Work for our new fully online MSW program. Marist has been granted permission by NYSED and CSWE to develop a fully online MSW program that will have a traditional 2-year stand-alone program as well as a 1-year advanced standing program. We are seeking a Program Director who will join us in the fall of 2024 as we open our doors to the first cohort of students. The Program Director will be responsible for completing the application to CSWE, currently in progress, and assuring going forward that all CSWE standards are met. The Program Director will have an important role in recruitment, advisement of students, preparation of handbook materials and program policies, hiring and supervising part time faculty, and teaching. We are seeking candidates preferably with a with a Ph.D. from an accredited CSWE institution. The successful candidate will have earned a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited CSWE institution. We seek dynamic faculty who model the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for ethical practice. Field Education Coordinator, Master of Social Work/Professional Lecturer of Social Work Poughkeepsie, NY
The Social Work & Sociology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Field Education Coordinator and Professional Lecturer of Social Work for our new fully online MSW program. Marist has been granted permission by NYSED and CSWE to develop a fully online MSW program that will have a traditional 2-year stand-alone program as well as a 1-year advanced standing program. We are seeking a Field Education Coordinator and Professional Lecturer of Social Work who will join us in the fall of 2024 as we open our doors to the first cohort of students. This position will be responsible for securing all field practicum experiences, monitoring students’ experiences, supervising field liaisons, and teaching. We are open to discussing the possibility of remote work models as the Coordinator may be placing students at sites across the country. We are seeking candidates, preferably with a Ph. D. from an accredited CSWE institution. The successful candidate will have earned a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited institution. We seek dynamic faculty who model the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for ethical practice. Teaching experience at the BSW or MSW level is required.
