Job Summary:

Marist College welcomes applicants for an exciting opportunity as an IT Infrastructure Fellow. This position will be full-time temporary within the Team in Marist IT. The IT Infrastructure Fellow will report directly to the Director of Infrastructure. The selected candidate will gain real-world experience in day-to-day systems operations by participating in dedicated small and mid-sized projects, contributing to cross-functional IT projects, collaborating with disparate IT functions, and providing customer service to internal and external clients. This is an excellent opportunity to gain systems experience in a fast-paced and stimulating department. Minimum Qualifications:

This opportunity is available to recent graduates who have successfully earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major or minor in Information Systems or Computer Science.

Essential Functions:

In this position, you will perform the following functions:

  • Support day to day activities of the Data Center Operations team
  • Support day to day activities of the Technical Services Support team
  • Support day to day activities of the Email and Collaboration team
  • Serve as liaison between the Infrastructure team and other functional IT units
  • Participate in special projects under the oversight of the Director of Infrastructure

A day in the life of the IT Infrastructure Fellow may look like:

  • Working in the Data Center, running cable and racking server equipment
  • Managing all Data Center assets within a configuration database
  • Assisting is server administration on IBM Z Mainframe, Open Systems and Cloud technologies
  • Assisting end users with email and collaboration tool issues
  • Create system diagrams and process / procedure documentation
  • Attend Infrastructure team meetings and Marist IT project meetings
