Job Summary:
|
Marist College invites applications for the position of Donor Relations Assistant (CL-2) within the Office of College Advancement. This position serves as a member of the Advancement Services team, providing specialized support on an independent or supervised basis to the Office of Donor Relations and Stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate, have 5-7 years of progressively responsible secretarial/clerical work or any combination of training, experience and education sufficient to indicate an ability to do the work.
Requisite Skills:
1B - Intermediate Reception/Response Consistently demonstrates ability to provide routine responses and basic information from inquiries (telephone, e-mail, or in-person) with minimal guidance. Directs visitors as needed.
5B - Intermediate Written Communication Consistently demonstrates ability to create routine correspondence or update template or samples with speed and accuracy. Utilizes a comprehensive knowledge of supported word processing software.
6B - Intermediate Office Organization Consistently demonstrates ability to manage operational aspects of the office with minimal to no supervision, including time management, information distribution, and project deadlines. Consistently demonstrates ability to file documents and student records using standard filing procedures as well as a familiarity with retention policies.
7B - Intermediate Record and Data Processing Consistently demonstrates ability to process routine forms and records quickly and accurately, using multiple programs, and investigate and resolve problems such as missing or inaccurate data. Consistently demonstrates attention to detail.
11B - lntermediate Word Processing Effectively demonstrates intermediate knowledge of supported word processing software Consistently demonstrates speed and accuracy and ability to do word processing with no guidance
15B - Intermediate Interpersonal Communication Consistently demonstrates courtesy, tact and professionalism, as well as sensitivity to the concerns or interests of others in conveying information. Demonstrates patience and the ability to handle difficult people.
16C - Advanced Judgment Consistently demonstrates ability to reference operational procedures within department on diversified projects and situations requiring independent assessment
18C - Advanced Organizational Knowledge Consistently demonstrates extensive knowledge of entire College and outside organizations

Essential Functions:
|
- Generate all donor acknowledgments and receipts in an accurate and timely manner across all giving levels through data manipulation, merging, printing, mailing, and uploading letters in database
- Open and distribute all incoming office mail
- Prepare all gifts for gift processing, including identification of donor, designation, updating preferred listing in donor publications, and scanning documents
- Assist with collecting and formatting student recipient profile forms to prepare stewardship scholarship reports for distribution to donors; proofread as needed
- Help manage logistics and provide day of support for annual Celebration of Scholarships event and other stewardship events during the year as necessary
- Enter and manage information for constituent records in department database, including keeping highly sensitive and confidential donor information accurate and secure
- Maintain supplies and office equipment; order when needed
- Reconcile or track and reconcile payment records and purchase orders
- Provide support at various Alumni, Advancement, and institutional special events throughout the year
- Possess intimate knowledge of entire institution and outside organizations as required by department
- Consistently demonstrate courtesy, tact, and professionalism
- Perform other job-related duties as required
