Job Summary:
|
The Athletics Department at Marist University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position for an Assistant Coach, Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving. This position will support all aspects of the Marist Swimming program including recruiting qualified student-athletes, coaching and instruction of student-athletes, monitoring and supporting academic progress and progression toward a degree, and alumni and donor engagement. This position typically identifies and recruits academically and athletically elite student-athletes, partners with the head coach to build a cohesive team culture, partners in scouting and producing videos to prepare the team for competition and develops and maintains effective relationships and communication with students, colleagues, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, members of the media and the public. This position will also participate in budget management, financial reconciliation, team fundraising, may assist in game day management, and may coordinate summer camps and clinics, including paperwork, customer service, and financial reconciliation.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Valid driver's license with no serious convictions
|
Essential Functions:
|
- Assist in evaluating and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes for the men’s and women’s swimming programs.
- Assist in student-athlete recruitment, individual and team coaching instruction, daily administrative processes, compliance oversight, and academic/social development, among others.
- Assist in team coaching, preparing the team for competition, and individual student-athlete development. Assist in monitoring academic, social, and personal development of men’s and women’s swimming student-athletes.
- Maintain knowledge and remain current regarding all appropriate NCAA, MAAC Conference, Department of Athletics and Recreation, and the College’s compliance issues, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for creating content and maintaining a strong presence on social media.
Assist in the coordination of team and individual travel for the purpose of team competition and student-athlete recruitment, including traveling with the team to away competitions.
- Assist in promoting and developing the program by creating and maintaining effective relationships with alumni, donors, and community members. Participate in events as a representative of the department and men’s and women’s swimming programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.

- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- University pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
