The Department of English in the School of Liberal Arts at Marist College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor and Writing Center Director to begin in July 2024. In addition to Writing Center administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will also teach a variety of writing courses including First-Year Writing; foundational courses for the English Major; and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. This position comes with a course reassignment for Writing Center duties, so candidates can expect a 2-2 teaching load. Candidates should be able to teach undergraduate philosophy courses at all levels, including Introduction to Philosophy. AOS is open but AOC must include at least one of the following: non-Western philosophy, contemporary ethical theory, history of philosophy, philosophy of law, philosophy of race, and empirical moral psychology. The department of World Languages and Cultures at Marist College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish with a specialization in contemporary Latin American/Latinx literature and cultures to begin in August 2024. Teaching responsibilities include all levels of Spanish language, survey courses in literature, and a senior seminar. Part-Time First-Year Advisor for Fashion Merchandising Poughkeepsie, NY
The role of Academic Advisor regularly meets with students in developing their four-year course planning by ensuring that pathways are chosen by the end of the first year, academic and proper degree requirements are met, and student is on a path for success throughout their four years at Marist. While this is of most importance during the registration advising period, academic advisors readily answer student questions as they arise, assist when a student is struggling in a course and offer insight and guidance on opportunities to purse such internships and study abroad. This is a position to work exclusively with first-year fashion merchandising students to set them up for success.
