Job Summary:

The Associate Director will provide valuable data analysis and insights to leadership that will influence decision-making, manage fundraising performance, and contribute to executive presentations. Reporting to the associate vice president of development, the associate director organizes data, conducts extensive analysis, utilizes software tools to generate regular and custom reports, and creates graphical representations of data for executive presentations. The associate director will also collaborate with campus colleagues on projects relating to integrating and interfacing data systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years of experience in roles that use data analysis tools.
  • Ability to research and analyze both quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Proficiency in software platforms such as Tableau, Python, SQL, HTML, APIs, relational databases, SaaS, Excel, and other computer applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication. Ability to clearly articulate complex topics and convey concepts to others without technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, provide direct support as needed, and complete tasks without immediate supervision.

Essential Functions:

Data

  • Utilize software tools to collect, organize, and present data.
  • Produce analyses and reports to generate insights and satisfy the data needs of the development team, track performance and progress toward goals, executive summaries, and other ad hoc reports and lists.
  • Assist projects and collaborate with colleagues to ensure proper data collection and transfer between various software platforms and databases.
  • Create custom executive reports and presentations for management as requested.
  • Design and employ predictive models for prospect identification and prioritization.
  • Generate and maintain mailing lists for all Annual Giving and Engagement efforts—including solicitations, newsletters, events, and pledge reminders.
  • Build, maintain, and utilize reports on development officer activity and portfolio management.
  • Provide insights from in-depth analysis of collected data to support and develop ongoing strategy.
  • Improve processes and systems for handling, analyzing, and using data office-wide, especially in annual giving.

Technology

  • Manage constituent data related to mass email communications across multiple platforms by enabling efficient data transfer to and from email applications, ensuring the integrity of data stored in those applications, and entering information on solicitations into data systems.
  • Explore, pilot, and evaluate office technology solutions for efficiency improvements and data integrity.
  • Develop integrations between third-party services and data systems that allow for a two-way flow of necessary data.
  • Act as an additional resource for web development and email and website editing requiring HTML.
  • Maintain and expand proficiency with programming languages relevant and useful to data analytics and visualization, such as Tableau, Python, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Develop and maintain the various donation platforms, including integrations for payment processing, receipt sending, and matching gift tracking.
  • Setup and monitor Google Analytics for email and websites as appropriate.

  • Possess basic knowledge of higher education.
  • Experience with philanthropy and advancement data platforms

    • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist College.
  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:
    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • College pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the College.
