We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) to join us at our state-of-the-art Allied Health Building as Coordinator of Clinical Education. The ideal candidate will join a team of hardworking individuals dedicated to developing high-quality, compassionate, and culturally sensitive PAs who are committed to advancing the PA profession.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work both independently and collaboratively. They will be able to promote a positive and engaging environment and be capable of leading multiple projects. This is a collaborative faculty role working directly with a co-coordinator of clinical education. A successful candidate should demonstrate interest in working, engaging, and supporting a diverse group of people including full time faculty, staff, college administrators, part-time faculty, patient actors, clinical preceptors, hospital administrators, and other stakeholders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Site Maintenance • Research, acquire, and maintain clinical rotation sites consistent with the objectives of Marist’s PA program • Act as a liaison between the program and preceptors/site administrators of established clinical sites • Develop and revise site instruments for the on-going evaluation process to ensure quality of teaching for each clinical site • Travel (domestic or international) as needed to clinical rotation sites to evaluate experiential teaching quality • Coordinate and schedule all clinical rotations and obtain placement for each student in supervised clinical practice experiences
Student Assessment • Review, revise, and/or develop benchmarks for standardized PAEA end-of rotation exams, PACKRAT, and End of Curriculum Exams. • Schedule and administer clinical year examinations. • Oversee the credentialing/onboarding process for students during the clinical year including ensuring that each student has all appropriate certifications, immunizations, and any other requirements necessary for clinical clerkships. • Create and revise learning outcomes and objectives for each rotation. • Revise Clinical and Preceptor Handbooks yearly. • Coordinate yearly “clinical year orientation” sessions • Perform, coordinate, and/or oversee on-site evaluation of students on clinical rotations. • Develop and monitor student evaluation instruments consistent with the outcomes of each clinical rotation. • Monitor and analyze clinical year assignments and assessment instruments during the clinical year. • Monitor individual student progress and design and oversee remediation as needed during the clinical year. • Develop and implement plans to identify student deficiencies during supervised clinical practice experiences. • Act as the program representative to students for personal and academic concerns in the clinical year. • Coordinate “call back” sessions during the clinical year.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
- Physician Assistant/Associate
- Master’s Degree
- Eligible for unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant license
- Current or emeritus NCCPA certification
- At least 3 years of clinical experience

Essential Functions:
|
As Principal Faculty, candidates can expect the following duties:
- Serve as faculty advisor for first- and second-year PA students.
- Participate on faculty committee(s).
- Participate in the duties necessary for program maintenance of accreditation.
- Foster student achievement, persistence and success.
- Proactively work with students who are at risk of not performing to their potential.
- Assure that programmatic institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes assessment is conducted and that the results of the assessment lead to meaningful instructional development.
- Participate in program events including:
- Program/College workshops & retreats
- Annual program events
- Admissions events
- Clinical call back days
- Summative examinations
- Participate in college-wide events (i.e. commencement, assessment day)
- Advise clinical and didactic students
- Hold office hours in accordance with Marist College policy
- Foster student achievement and success
- Promote a culture of equity and inclusion
- Demonstrate commitment to Marist College and the program’s mission, vision, and values
- Other responsibilities as determined by the Program Director

Preferred Qualifications:

- Doctoral degree
- Three years administrative and/or teaching experience in a college/university system
|

- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- College pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
