Job Summary:

Marist College seeks an energetic, innovative, and creative Assistant Director of Digital Content Production who is capable of collaborating with a team of creatives to create an impactful, strategic brand experience that connects people to our brand through photography and video. The Assistant Director is a motivated, creative, deadline-oriented digital media guru who brings our brand to life. The ideal person for this position will have a creative portfolio of both photo and video and a collaborative and innovative attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven success with cameras, stabilization systems, lenses, composition, and lighting techniques
  • Experience in video content production including editing (color correction, grading and audio mixing)
  • A self-motivated, quick learner who also has success working collaboratively and deliver results
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in photography and film editing
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills; flawless editing to support clear ideas
  • Bachelor’s degree in video, cinematography, or related field
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments and adapts easily to change
  • Able to work under pressure quickly, effectively and efficiently

Essential Functions:

  • Brings a positive and can-do approach to execute and manage all film and video production, including professionally executed content and influencer content
  • Deliver finished projects with minimal to moderate supervision
  • Work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Continuously discover and implement new technologies
  • Measure the performance of digital content through audience engagement metrics and develop tactics and strategies to grow our audience
  • Set up lights, cameras, mics, etc. for recording on set
  • Apply color correction for the camera and look consistently
  • Maintain photo and digital video library
  • Schedules, coordinates and conducts photo and video shoots
  • All other duties as assigned

The Office of College Marketing and Communications serves as the institution’s central hub of content creation and brand management. The office’s mission is to build national awareness of Marist and drive new student enrollment by strengthening the Marist brand through thoughtful storytelling, editorials, videos, photography, and creative visuals.
