Job Summary:

The Marist College Department of Athletics invites applications for an Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement for Basketball. This position will assist the Director of Student Athlete Enhancement in offering a comprehensive academic support program for student athletes that focuses on overall student athlete development, including life skills. Travel is required during basketball season, November through March.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Three to five years of relevant experience required. Valid Driver’s license required as well as experience using Banner. Must be able to work effectively as a team player.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor progress toward graduation and NCAA eligibility of basketball student-athletes by providing academic support services
  • Regularly communicate with head and assistant basketball coaches regarding student progress and needs
  • Provide life skills programming in the areas of personal enhancement, character development, career readiness, and leadership development
  • Monitor team study hall on campus and on overnight road trips as necessary
  • Coordinate summer bridge program for incoming freshmen basketball student-athletes
  • Participate in on-campus recruiting activities with prospective basketball student-athletes and their families
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred.

A conference leader in athletic and academic success, the Marist College Department of Athletics sponsors 23 Division I sports that compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the Pioneer Football League (PFL – Football Championship Subdivision).  In its history, Marist is the MAAC all-time leader in conference championships and overall Commissioner’s Cups, an award that celebrates overall excellence and athletic achievement.  The Red Foxes have led the conference in MAAC Academic Honor Roll for 17 straight seasons.

The Department of Athletics is engaged in an athletic/academic partnership to produce varsity athletics competitions on ESPN platforms using students to facilitate these broadcasts.
