Job Summary:

The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Athletics Business Manager. This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director - Business Operations. The Athletics Business Manager assists with the fiscal management and daily business operations of Department of Athletics for 23 varsity Sports, Club Sports, Intramurals and Recreation and ensures that all fiscal activities are conducted within the policies of the College, Conference, and NCAA. The Athletics Business Manager assists with the coordination of all team travel, ticket operations and management of department recruiting vehicles and serves as liaison between the Business Office and Department of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required; 1-3 years of experience working with business operations, purchasing, and budgets required, preferably in the athletic field. 

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with the Assistant Athletic Director - Business Operations for purchasing, business transactions and budgets of Varsity Sports, Club Sports, Intramurals and Recreation
  • Coordinate vendor cost management, purchase requisitions and corporate purchasing cards
  • Manage all ticket operations for the varsity programs, specifically football, men’s and women’s basketball and conference championships
  • Coordinate and planning of all team travel
  • Assist with the management of Athletics Department recruiting vehicles (maintenance, insurance, registrations, etc.)
  • Assist with all Department of Athletics insurance related issues, game and event management

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree preferred. Previous experience in Division I college athletics business operations strongly preferred.
