Assistant Professor of Accounting

Job Summary:

The Department of Economics, Accounting, and Finance and the School of Management invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Accounting to start in fall 2022. This tenure track position will involve teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses (including online courses) and maintaining a high level of professional/scholarly activity through research and service. Candidates must commit to excellence in teaching and research in accounting. Candidates with an interest in auditing and taxation are preferred, and applicants in all accounting areas will be considered. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in accounting or a related field, or an anticipated completion date during the fall of 2022. The expected course load for our faculty is 18 credits, typically distributed as a 3:3 course load. The School of Management’s academic mission is enriched by an inclusive community in which diverse perspectives are respected and valued. Thus, candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have an earned doctoral degree in accounting an anticipated completion date during the fall of 2022. Professional experience is also highly desirable.

  • Provide undergraduate and graduate instruction in Accounting
  • Responsible for the advisement of students
  • Research productivity
  • Service to college, school, and department

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with an interest in auditing and taxation are preferred, and candidates in all accounting areas will be considered. Professional experience and certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, CISA, etc.) are also desirable.

Department of Economics, Accounting and Finance houses multiple programs in the fields of Economics, Accounting and Finance, and provides a very diverse, collegial, and collaborative environment for our faculties and students. The School of Management offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics, as well as Masters degrees in Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Science in Professional Accountancy (MSPA), and the Masters of Public Administration (MPA).  The Department of Economics, Accounting, and Finance has seventeen full-time faculty members.
