Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

Job Summary:

The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for a part-time, 12-month position as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. This position will report to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Marist College is an NCAA Division I program and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The part-time assistant women’s soccer will participate in the preparation, coordination, practice & game plan preparation, and execution of practice plans during the academic year. The position is responsible for the identification, research of, and communication with prospective student athletes during the course of the calendar year. The assistant coach will also assist in the academic, personal and career mentoring of students-athletes.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree required. 1-3 years’ experience playing college soccer and/or coaching Division I women’s soccer. Knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines required. 

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluation and recruitment of qualified student-athletes with the potential for academic and athletic success
  • Oversee the plan for each woman’s soccer season, including competitive schedule and practices, i.e., scheduling facilities, administration of practice schedule; overseeing travel arrangements for away competition, any necessary communication with officials
  • Ensure compliance of the program with all NCAA, MAAC, and Marist College rules, regulations and policies
  • Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches and other staff as assigned
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of assistant coaches in recruiting, team management, and practice and game planning
  • Manage operating budget
  • Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds
  • Assist as needed to raise funds to support the women’s soccer program and Department
  • Annually pass the NCAA off-campus recruiting exam
  • Attend and participate in full regalia, the undergraduate commencement and ceremonies at the end of each academic year

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree/advanced degree preferred. Previous experience, 3-5 years, in Division I college athletics strongly preferred.
