Job Summary:

The Operations Specialist is responsible for coordination of the operations and strategic projects under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for Operations. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for coordination of institutional planning, scheduling, and event management as directed by the AVP of Operations. This position will help ensure cross-divisional coordination for College stakeholders, partners, and third parties utilizing campus resources on the main campus in Poughkeepsie, the Executive Center in New York City, and other locations as needed. Key attributes for this role include, but are not limited to: highly proficient organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills, and strong communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of one to three years of relevant work experience.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills, as well as excellent Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills are necessary.
  • Occasional travel to New York City or other locations may be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and coordinate strategic projects and events on the main campus in Poughkeepsie, at the New York City Executive Center, or other locations.
  • Oversee all aspects of project management for key initiatives from initiation to completion by developing comprehensive plans, defining goals, tasks, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Serve as the project manager for events, programs, and initiatives with strategic partners at a variety of College locations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other College units. Collaborate as appropriate to gather information, communicate effectively, answer questions, and complete tasks across a variety of departments.
  • Support the AVP of Operations with written materials, projects, initiatives, and meetings, as needed.
  • Coordinate information and facilitate communication among the unit departments, administrators, and staff.
  • Serve on committees and working groups to support the operation of the office and participate in college-wide activities.
  • Develop tools and best practices to enhance service delivery
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree

Previous project management experience strongly preferred.

Experience with high-level project manager, higher education, or non-profit management preferred.
