Job Summary:
|
Marist University invites applications for an Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement. The Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement provides direct assistance to over 600 students. The Center provides academic advising, academic support, student-athlete development, and study assistance. This position would provide academic support and student-athlete development.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
Bachelor’s Degree and one to three years experience in student-athlete support. Valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to work effectively as a team player. Knowledge of NCAA rules and proficiency with various computer technologies required.
|
|
Essential Functions:
|
- Monitor progress toward graduation and NCAA eligibility of student-athletes by providing academic support services.
- Regularly communicate with coaches regarding student progress and needs.
- Provide student-athlete development programming in the areas of personal enhancement, character development, career readiness, and leadership development through a combination of one-on-one meetings, small group sessions, and presentations to large groups.
- Participate in on-campus recruiting activities with prospective student-athletes by providing information on support services
- Coordinate nominations for academic awards and honors.
- Perform other job related duties as required

Preferred Qualifications:
|
Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree in education, counseling or related field is strongly preferred. Applicant should be knowledgeable about the needs of student athletes to succeed in the academic environment and have experience using Banner.

- Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.
- 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- University pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

The mission of the Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement is to provide academic advising, tutoring, life skills development and study facilities to the student-athlete population at Marist University. In addition, the office monitors the academic progress and NCAA eligibility of each student-athlete. The Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement is committed to providing student-athletes with academic support services that will not only assist them during their time at Marist, but also allow them to develop the skills necessary to be successful after their playing careers are complete.
