Salary/Pay Rate:

$1,167 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist College. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online, graduate, music, or lab courses. 

Job Summary:

The Department of Criminal Justice in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marist College invites applications for a part time position as the Internship Coordinator & Lecturer of Criminal Justice.

This position oversees the placement of undergraduates at local internship sites. This includes serving as liaison to the site supervisors, monitoring student performance, and ensuring that all appropriate contracts are in place. Most internship placements will be made during the regular fall and spring semesters, but one small section will run during the summer.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in a field relevant to criminal justice studies.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide workshops to students to help them prepare for internship placements
  • Ensure that all contracts are in place for internship sites
  • Act as liaison to all site supervisors
  • Maintain and update internship website
  • Monitor student progress, and award final course grade for internship credit as the instructor of record

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working with community agencies in a supervisory capacity

The Criminal Justice department is one of four departments in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The department offers a major and minor in criminal justice, minor in social justice, and double majors in criminal justice/psychology and criminal justice/social work.

The four departments are psychology, criminal justice, social work and teacher education. The School also has graduate programs as follows:  MA School Psychology; MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Masters of Arts in Teaching; MS in Education, Contemporary Curriculum and Instruction.
