Job Summary:

Marist College invites applications for the position of Data Analyst Specialist in the IT Department. The Data Analyst Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, development, and deployment of learning and predictive analytics technologies and services. Internal tasks for this position will be related to activities that enable the extraction, transformation and loading of institutional data into designated stores for the purposes of performing data science related activities such as machine learning and predictive analysis.
This position is hybrid/remote eligible with periodic on-campus work at the supervisor’s discretion.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Data Analytics and 3 - 5 years’ experience in the Information Technology field. The ideal candidate should have a proven record of success in database design, data analytics and data mining.
The ability to work in a rapidly changing technological and team-oriented environment is essential. Excellent customer service and communication skills a must.

Essential Functions:
|
- Build and maintain computer programs and scripts that will support all data warehouse functions, create units of analysis that can be used for data science related activities, implement programs to support analytics and data science activities to include Python, SQL, BASH and other languages as appropriate.
- Prepare analysis reports that result from the analysis of data sources as assigned.
- Assist student workers with assigned tasks.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new predictive models.
- Maintain all original and maintenance work in source code repositories, ensure appropriate testing and QA.

Preferred Qualifications:
|
Experience in higher education strongly preferred. Experience with Tableau.

- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- College pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
