Job Summary:
|
Marist College Office of Counseling Services seeks a full-time psychologist with passion, commitment and expertise in working with student athletes and students with disordered eating concerns. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in addressing the unique needs of the Division 1 college athlete and promotion of their holistic well-being. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with any students disordered eating and body image concerns. The role will serve as a conduit between Counseling Services and Athletics, coordinating collaboration and programming between both areas, reporting to both Director of Counseling Services and Assistant Director or Sports Medicine.
This 12-month position involves provision of a range of services to a diverse student population, including intakes; individual counseling; group counseling' consultation; crisis intervention; on-call rotation; and innovative outreach programming and workshops. Counseling Services is committed to enhancing student mental health through accessible, culturally-informed and affirming care, contributing to a campus culture of inclusiveness, equity and wellness.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
- Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program
- Must be licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in New York State
- Understanding of NCAA mandates and mental health best practices.
|
Essential Functions:
|
- Provide intakes, individual and group counseling within a culturally responsive and inclusive lens.
- Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions including facilitating referrals for hospital psychiatric evaluations; consult with involved professionals, college staff and families when indicated.
- Collaborate and liaison with campus partners, including but not limited to Health Services and Sports Medicine to address the intersection of mental health and physical well being.
- Work with members of Coaching and Sports Medicine staff to ensure collaborative and comprehensive approaches to supporting college athlete wellbeing.
- Participate in Eating Disorder Treatment team meetings.
- Participate in emergency on-call rotation after-hours and weekends.
- Provide consultations to faculty, staff, students, administration and families on student behavioral and mental health concerns through phone and in-person communications.
- Coordinate and participate in occasional evening/weekend Outreach or Student Affairs programming
- Maintain current, accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines and Counseling Services policies using Titanium Schedule electronic records.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
|
- One to three years experience in collegiate athletic setting
- Eligibility or Certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC)
- Eligibility or Certification as a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS)
- Demonstrated dedication and attentiveness to social justice issues and intersectionality in serving historically marginalized students as well as commitment to ongoing development of cultural competencies.
- Committed self-care practice to maintain resilience.
- Interest, experience, and commitment to facilitating groups.
- Effective at designing/presenting trainings and outreach programs to students, faculty, staff.
- Flexibility responding to high demand for services and changing program needs.
- Familiarity with Titanium electronic medical record.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical services to college students, athletes, and individuals with eating disorders.

- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- College pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
