Job Summary:
|
The role of academic advisor is to regularly meet with students in developing their four-year course planning by ensuring that pathways are chosen by the end of the first year, academic and proper degree requirements are met, and student is on a path for success throughout their four years at Marist. While this is of most importance during the registration advising period, academic advisors readily answer student questions as they arise, assist when a student is struggling in a course and offer insight and guidance on opportunities to purse such internships and study abroad.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Advising experience in higher education
|
Essential Functions:
|
- Meet individually with students in person
- Answer student emails and phone calls
- Consult with SCA Director of Advising and Department Chairs
- Participate in school and department meetings and attend necessary trainings
- Other duties as assigned
|
Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Masters Degree
- Professional Experience Communications, Art, Fashion, or Film/TV
- 1-3 years experience in academic advising
|
